Senior Broadcast Journalism major Tamerras Leonard applied for a Student Runner position at the beginning of August. She wanted a chance to work with ABC because it is a major opportunity. “It’s vital to couple what’s learned in class with actual experience in the field,” said Leonard.
The internship spanning three to four weeks will give her access to a network of people and unique experiences. Leonard desires to gain a greater understanding and firsthand look at the positions she is applying for. As a Student Runner, Leonard job description is as follows:
Some highlights of Leonard’s internship experience including having the opportunity to meet and shadow positions that she aspires to attain in the industry. She was also invited to New York after the debate to tour the ABC News Headquarters.
“Being involved in an event of this magnitude means more than I am capable of expressing,” said Leonard, “I have endless gratitude for being selected and plan to capitalize off of all that it has taught me, and what it has exposed me to.”
Leonard is an aspiring broadcast journalist and believes it is paramount to be well versed in front and behind the camera. “This experience has produced transferable skills that will place me ahead of those trying to enter my field,” said Leonard, “I have been able to apply all that I have learned via my 海角乱伦专区 education.”
